Mauritius À La Car Rental Terms & Rules

General Terms

1. Eligibility:
   • Renters must be at least 21 years old.
   • Renters must hold a valid driver’s license for a minimum of one year.
   • International renters must have a valid international driving permit or a driving license in English or French.
2. Rental Period:
   • The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
   • Rentals are charged on a 24-hour basis. Late returns beyond the agreed time may incur additional charges.
3. Reservations:
   • Reservations can be made online, by phone, or by email.
   • A valid credit card is required to secure a reservation.
   • Early booking is recommended to ensure availability.

Payment Terms

1. Rates and Payment:
   • Rental rates are inclusive of taxes and standard insurance.
   • Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, or cash.
   • Full payment is required at the start of the rental period.
2. Deposits:
   • A refundable security deposit is required at the start of the rental. The amount varies depending on the vehicle category.
   • The deposit will be returned upon safe return of the vehicle, provided no damages or additional charges are incurred.
3. Cancellation Policy:
   • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time are free of charge.
   • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the pick-up time may incur a cancellation fee.

Vehicle Use

1. Vehicle Condition:
   • Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as they were rented, except for normal wear and tear.
   • The renter is responsible for any damages, loss, or theft of the vehicle during the rental period.
2. Mileage:
   • Unlimited mileage is included in the rental rate unless otherwise specified.
   • Excessive mileage may be subject to additional charges in some cases.
3. Fuel Policy:
   • Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
   • Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank will result in refueling charges.
4. Prohibited Uses:
   • Vehicles must not be used for illegal purposes, towing, racing, or driving off-road (unless renting a 4×4).
   • Smoking is prohibited in all rental vehicles.

Insurance and Liability

1. Insurance Coverage:
   • Standard insurance includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection, and third-party liability insurance.
   • An excess amount is applicable for any damages or theft, which can be reduced with optional excess reduction cover.
2. Additional Insurance:

3. Accidents and Breakdowns:
   • In the event of an accident or breakdown, renters must notify Mauritius À La Carte Car Rental immediately.

Additional Drivers and Extras

Returning the Vehicle
